Frequently Asked Questions

Olympic Peninsula Guided Fishing Trips

How many people can I invite?
Our boat fishes best with two guests, but we have the ability to host three guests. If you have a larger party we can accomodate you by booking some of our experienced partner guides.

Do I need a fishing license?
Yes, of course you do! You can purchase an annual or daily freshwater fishing license at any license dealer in Washington State. Licenses are available online, but you WILL NOT be able to print a Catch Record Card (mandatory on our trips), which is required for any fish we keep. Please do not buy your license online unless you allow for several weeks for the state to mail you a Catch Record Card.

How should I dress for my trip?
Our fishing locations are all within the Olympic Peninsula temperate rainforest. Even if the weather forecast shows sunny weather, please prepare for anything! Dress warm, you can always peel off layers if the weather is nice. Waders are suggested, but if you don’t own any please bring rain pants along with your rain jacket. Often, we see rain showers and sunny skies in the same day, so pack your sunglasses as well.

What happens to the fish we catch?
All of our trips have the possibility of catching fish we must release, but if we catch something we can keep, we will give you the chance to bring your catch home. We will bleed the fish upon retaining and fillet or clean them for you at the end of the trip. We suggest you bring a cooler with you for your catch, but please leave it in your vehicle as there is limited space on the boat.

Where do we stay?
There are numerous hotels located in Aberdeen, Hoquiam, Ocean Shores, Copalis Beach and Lake Quinault. Depending on what river we decide to fish, there are lodging options within 30 minutes of our meeting place. Feel free to call us and ask for a recommendation.

How long will we be fishing?
Our trips typically last 6 hours to 10 hours. If we have an exeptional day and limit out, our trip might end before then, but you are in complete control of deciding what fish you keep as long as it is legal to do so.

What do you provide?
We provide a clean drift boat, an experienced fishing guide, all of the equipment and fishing tackle needed.

What should we bring?
Washington Freshwater Fishing License and Catch Record Card, Rain Gear, Boots or Waders, any food or beverages you would like, Sunglasses, anything else you have questions about please let us know.

Should we tip our guide?
If you had an experience that met or beat your expectations, gratuities are much appreciated.

What else?
If you have any other questions we are happy to discuss… give us a call!

Clean water and a fiery on the end of the line.
